It’s easy to put this together in the morning and let it cook in the crock pot all afternoon – while you make up the perfect potato salad and fire up the grill. Or just sit back, relax and watch everyone else run around, knowing you have the yummiest side dish at the party.

1 pound ground beef
1 onion, diced
1/2 green bell pepper
1/2 red bell pepper
3 large cans original style baked beans
1 can black beans
3/4 cup brown sugar
6-8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (1 Tbsp reserved for garnish)
1 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
fresh parsley
Directions
- In a medium-sized frying pan, cook the ground beef, then put it in the crock pot. In the same frying pan , saute the onion and peppers until soft. Put them in the crock pot as well.
- Add the next six ingredients to the crock pot with the ground beef and veggies and stir thoroughly.
- Bake on high for one hour and then move to the low setting for another 3-4 hours.
- Keep on the warm setting until ready to serve, garnish with chopped parsley and a little crumbled bacon.
