Sweet Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

You will love the super-fast prep with this Sweet Slow Cooker Pulled Pork. It’s my favorite “fix it and forget it” meal – the one I make when three of my kids have soccer games, one has a rehearsal, and Dad’s got late meetings.

It’s wonderfully sweet and tender. If you have young helpers around, they can start the rice in a rice cooker and help shred the pork. It’s a total win-win!

Cooking Time

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs. boneless pork ribs OR pork roast, cut into large chunks

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped garlic

  • 1 Tbsp Tabasco

  • 2 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 4-5 cups cooked rice

  • 1/2 bunch green onions, green and white parts, chopped

Directions

  • Mix the brown sugar, garlic, Tabasco and spices in a medium bowl.
  • Pat the brown sugar mix all over the pork and place in the slow cooker.
  • Turn slow cooker on high and cook for 1 hour. Then, reduce to low and cook for 4-5 more hours, until the meat is falling apart.
  • Remove pork from slow cooker and reserve liquid. Shred with two forks and return to the liquid.
  • Serve cooked pork with a bit of liquid over 1/2 cup rice, and garnish with green onions.

Notes

  • When feeding a crowd, I like to double the brown sugar mixture and use a whole 7+lb. package of Pork Shoulder Country Style Boneless Ribs from Costco.
  • Try serving this with sweet potato fries, salad and Hawaiian Rolls.
  • This recipe is super easy and hands-off if you also have a rice cooker!

  1. I accidentally left mine on high the whole time. 😂 Luckily, I realized and only cooked it for 4.5 total hours. Still tasted completely amazing!
