This is my family’s favorite maple syrup! We love it with pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc. It tastes so much better than the syrup you buy at the grocery store. I always have the ingredients on hand so fresh, warm syrup is only 5-10 minutes away.

minutesIngredients
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup, like Karo
1 cup water
1 tsp maple extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
- In a medium-sized pot combine the two sugars, the corn syrup and the water.
- Bring just to a boil, then remove from heat.
- Stir in the maple and vanilla* and allow to cool a bit before pouring into a container. Serve warm.
Notes
- *Be careful adding the vanilla as it will bubble up quite a bit for a second or two.
- Syrup will stay good in a sealed container in a cool, dark pantry for several months.
- You can store your homemade syrup in a thoroughly washed, used syrup bottle. Just make sure you have a good funnel for pouring the hot syrup into the container.
